Agreement on fasting `Ashura except by the extremist Shia

Salam `Aleykum,

Enjoy more of Shiasm,

Famous Shia scholar al-Muhaqqiq al-Sha`rani says in his commentary on the book “al-Wafi” by al-Faydh al-Kashani, 22/505:

[It happens that some of the narrators who are extreme in their hatred for the Mukhalifeen (Sunnis), those who exaggerate the differences and deviate from the school of Ahlul-Bayt (as), that they may go over board in certain beliefs un-intentionally only so they may oppose the Mukhalifeen. They do this because of their strong relation to Tashayyu`, as we see a group in the late times who deny that fasting `Ashura is liked (Mustahabb) by agreement, just so they can oppose the Mukhalifeen, and they stick to the belief that the Qur’an is corrupted so they can use this to criticize the enemies of Ahlul-Bayt (as), although there are many criticisms against them and there is no need to prove Tahreef(corruption) and demolish the foundations of the religion.]

Comment: And as you all know, in Tashayyu` the general rule is, the extremists of yesterday are the average Shia of today.

The ignorance of Al-Mufid and Muhaqiq about their own books! (FADAK related)

Bismillah.

Salam Alaikum.

I’d like to share with small observation from the book of one of the top shia shaykhs known as Mufid. In his book “Risala hawla hadith Nahnu Muasharul Anbiya la Nuwarith” (page 4), thk: Malik al-Mahmudi, al-Mufid said: Continue reading

No one except kaafir would hate imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal

Ibn Abu Yala al-Hanbali in “Tabaqatul Hanabila” (1/29, thk Abdurrahman al-Uthaymeen) wrote:

“Rabia ibn Sulaiman narrated that Imam Shafei said: Who hates Ahmad ibn Hanbal is kaafir. I asked: You implement upon him name of disbeliever? Imam Shafei said: Yes, who hates Ahmad ibn Hanbal he opposes Sunnah. And who opposes sunnah targeted companions, and who targeted companions hates prophet (sallalahu alaihi wa ala alihi wa sallam), and who hates him is disbeliever in Great Allah”.

Inheritance in the Qur’an (Fadak related)

By brother Farid:

Bismillah alrahman alraheem,

The follow is some material from a very useful book called Difa’an ‘an Al-Aal wal As’haab (p. 260). It goes without saying that this was originally in Arabic, but it was so useful to me, that I could not help but translate some of the content. I will be skipping some parts due to the length, so those that know Arabic should return to the original. Continue reading

People of Kufa and their reliability in narrating Hadith

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

I found these interesting quotes in a book of virtues, so I thought I’d share.

[Imam abu Ya`la al-Khalili said: The people of Kufa have so many weak narrators that it is impossible to count all of them. Some of the Huffaz(plural of Hafiz) said:”I observed what the people of Kufa have fabricated from narrations of virtue for `Ali and his household, and it exceeded three hundred thousand.”]

source: al-Irshad (1/420)

Ibn al-Qayyim commented on this in “al-Manar al-Muneef” page 116: “Do not think that it is unlikely, because if you tracked what they have from such narrations, you would find that the matter is as he said.”

[al-Khalili said: I heard Muhammad bin Suleiman al-Fami say: I heard `Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Asfarayinee say: I heard Muhammad bin Idris the Warraq of al-Hamidee say: The people of Madinah said: We made up seventy narrations to test the people of `Iraq through them, and sent them to Kufa and Basara. The people of Basara returned them to us and did not accept them, they said: “They are fabricated, all of them.” The people of Kufa also returned them to us however they added a chain of narrators for each one!]

source: al-Irshad (1/421)

Shaykhul Islam ibn Taymiyah said:

“As for the people of Kufa, there were no people of any city who lied more than they did. In the time of the followers, there were many people who were known for lying, especially the shia. The various sects there were the parties most frequently given to lying by the agreement of the people of knowledge. It is for this reason that it is mentioned from Malik and others of the people of Madina that they didn’t accept as evidence the general hadiths of the people of Iraq because there were known to be liars among them, and the Iraqis couldn’t distinguish between those who were truthful and liars”.

Jafar ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq on Zurara ibn Ayun

Yaqub ibn Sufyan in his “al-Marifat wat Tareeh” narrated:

….from ibn Simak: I intended to make pilgrimage, and Zurara ibn Ayun, brother of Abdulmalik ibn Ayun said to me: If you would see Jafar ibn Muhammad pass to him my Salam, and say to him to answer, if I am going to be in the Heaven or in the Fire?

Ibn Simak said: I reached Jafar ibn Muhammad, and said to him: O son of the prophet, do you know Zurara ibn Ayun, he said: Yes, RAFIDI AL-HABIS.

I said: He passed salam to you, and ask me to question you, if he is going to be in the heaven or in the fire?  Jafar said: He would be in the fire. And know how I understood that he is rafidi. He claimed that I know unseen. And whoever claims that someone knows unseen apart from Allah az-Wajal he is kaafir, and kaafir in the fire.

Ali stance on Fadak

Shaykh of shias al-Murtada in his book “ash-Shafi fil Imama” (4/92) said:

Translation:

When ruling passed to commander of faithful, alaihi salam  (meaning Ali), he left Fadak in the same place it was upon (during the time of Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman), and he didn’t make it inheritance to the children of Fatima..

al-Mufid shoots himself in the leg

al-Salamu `Aleykum

I came across something extremely dangerous written by the biggest of their scholar al-Sheikh al-Mufid, this man wanted to refute Ahlul-Sunnah and his argument is that: “Why do you Sunnies say that Abu Bakr and `Umar and `Uthman are more worthy of caliphate? if these men fought and spent in the cause of Allah then there are also others who were much better than they are, others who spent more and fought harder, there are others who served Islam much more than they did.” Continue reading

Ali and Tarawih

Imam AbdulHay al-Lucknawi in his “Tuhfatul ahyar” (p 105) :

It was narrated from Ali that he said: May Allah enlighten the grave of Umar, like he enlighten upon us our mosques.  And from Abdurrahman as-Sulami that Ali called for reciters in the Ramadan, and ordered to two men to pray with people 20 rakahs. And Ali prayed with them Witr. And from Arfajah: Ali ordered people to stand (in the prayers) in Ramadan, and he set Imam for men and Imam for women. And Arfajah said: I was leading women, this was narrated by Beyhaki in his Sunnan.
